Have you ever wondered what would happen if you quit your job and just traveled around visiting all your old friends who live all over the country? Well, if you happen to be 28 years old, I can quickly summarize what would happen so as to spare you the trouble of quitting your job and doing all that driving around:
You will meet lots of babies.
I love babies, and I love all my friends who have babies. Do I want to have one of my own? The jury is still out on that one. Being a woman of child-bearing age, I can say that the 'biological clock' thing is kind of true. When I see magazine articles about fertility I start freaking out. On the other hand, when I see pictures of people surfing I want to run away to Tamarindo. Which would be quite hard to do if I were no longer child-free.

I totally hear ya. I think it's the big dilemma females face these days since technically we have a choice.
I'm still not really sure if I want offspring although I'm leaning towards no at this point. The thing is when you mention this to some people -- they just won't understand or want to make you feel like you're a bad person.
I think babies are totally cute. However, when it comes to the whole pregnancy, parenting for 18+ years thing.... I'm just hesitant.
You can still do it. You just have to be really good at wrangling poor suckers--erum--finding good babysitters. If you can talk the Mister into staying at home with the kiddo while you escape, then all the better.
The latter is something I've only managed to accomplish for a couple hours at a time. The former? I'm still working on my roping and hog-tying skilz.
That's what you get for not visiting me. I'm baby-free, going to be in New York and living it up. We really have more than a few years left in our uteri. I'd rather get my life set first.
Also, since I still remember a time when you were never going to reproduce ever, I'm still reeling a bit.
However, at this point, I want to visit my friends and their babies! I was going to be my friend Dara's doula if only I could get to Singapore again. Deanna, you have a fabulous new automatic gun, so you'll have no problems with hospital staff. :)
